MIDTOWN — Service was disrupted on the N, Q, R and W lines during the Wednesday evening commute due to a rail condition at 59th Street, according to the MTA.

A train operator heard a strange noise after exiting 59th Street, an MTA spokeswoman said. Maintenance workers then inspected and found the track problem at about 4 p.m.

Queens-bound trains were rerouted through 5:50 p.m. and then were running with delays.

Riders can check the MTA’s website for updates.
