FINANCIAL DISTRICT —  A woman's handbag — which was holding more than $1,000, a $400 necklace, as well as her cellphone — was snatched from a Wendy's counter inside the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, police said.

The 44-year-year old woman told police she left her bag on the fast-food counter inside the FiDi ferry terminal on Dec. 30 at about 2 p.m., as she picked up her food order.

Another woman quickly grabbed the victim's bag, and ran into the woman's bathroom, then headed out of the terminal, according to surveillance tapes reviewed by police.

The thief is described as about 50 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with short blond hair.

Police were still investigating the theft.
