QUEENS — A homeless man who identified himself by the names of characters in the "Police Academy" movies broke a woman's elbow when he shoved her down a flight of subway steps in Forest Hills on Christmas Eve, according to the NYPD.

The 54-year-old victim, who lives nearby on Yellowstone Boulevard, was walking down subway stairs around 8:50 a.m. when the man, who said his name was Patt Mahony, 40, approached her from behind and shoved her, sending her tumbling down about a dozen steps, authorities said.

According to the New York Daily News, which first reported the story, Mahony then ran into an open E train car and started taking off his clothes, but a police spokeswoman could not confirm that Tuesday.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, police said.

Mahony was arrested about an hour later at the same subway station, police officials said.

When he got arrested, the suspect gave police officers several fake names from the police comedy movie franchise, including "Tackleberry," the over-the-top crossing guard, sources said. The 1984 comedy also happened to feature a character named "Carey Mahoney."

He was charged with assault and taken to Jamaica Hospital for evaluation.

He had not been arraigned as of Tuesday morning, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.
