TRIBECA — Several pieces of jewelry, including a woman's $5,000 engagement ring and $2,000 wedding band, were stolen from a Murray Street apartment, police said.

The jewelry was believed to be stolen sometime between late October and early December, according to a police report, but the owner, a 52-year-old woman, reported the theft on Dec. 12.

The 11 pieces, which also included a pair of jade and gold earrings, were worth a total of $10,825, police said.

The baubles were taken from a jewelry box and her countertop, the woman said. There were no signs of forced entry, and multiple people, including her babysitter and cleaning woman, have access to the apartment, she told police.

Police were still investigating the theft.
