Snag a Two-Bedroom Apartment for $870 a Month in The Bronx

THE BRONX — A total of 59 newly renovated affordable apartments for as low as $822 per month are coming up for grabs across six buildings in The Bronx.

The apartments include 12 studios for $822 per month, nine one-bedrooms for $882 per month, 21 two-bedrooms for $1,065 per month and one three-bedroom for $1,224 per month.

Offerings also include five two-bedrooms for $870 per month, seven two-bedrooms for $1,628 per month and four three-bedrooms for $1,875 per month.

Units are available for households of one to six people making between $29,520 and $105,100 per year, or between 50 and 100 percent of Area Median Income.

The units are spread across six buildings at 1171 Clay Ave., 1183 Clay Ave., 1202 Clay Ave., 384 Grand Concourse, 1129 Morrison Ave. and 1038 Rogers Pl. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development did not respond to a question about how the units were divided up across the six buildings.

The deadline to apply for the units is Feb. 27, and prospective tenants can apply online at nyc.gov/housingconnect or request an application through the mail by sending a self-addressed envelope to JGV Management, PO Box 740610, Bronx, NY, 10474.

Eligible city employees and residents of Bronx Community Boards 1, 2 and 4 will receive preference for a percentage of units, as will eligible people with mobile, visual or hearing disabilities.
