EAST HARLEM — An anonymous suspect sent text-message threats that included photos of guns as part of an extortion attempt, the NYPD said.
The victim, 56, from East Harlem, began receiving the messages from an unknown number on Dec. 13 with threats to harm him and his wife if he didn't pay an unspecified amount of cash, police said.
The suspect then sent photos of guns and claimed he would show up at the victim’s home and workplace if he did not send the money, NYPD officials said.
The suspect has not yet been arrested, police said.
