Subway Muggers Kick, Punch and Slice Man at G Train Stop, Police Say

By Gwynne Hogan | December 21, 2016 1:13pm

WILLIAMSBURG — A group of muggers slashed a man multiple times in the stomach and chest after appraching from behind and dragging him to the ground in the Broadway G train subway stop, police say.

After the three robbers jumped the 50-year-old man about 1 a.m. on Dec. 14, they took $20 cash and the man's cellphone and ran off, police said.

The injured man walked down the street to Woodhull Hospital where workers there called 911 and helped document his injuries, police said.

Investigators returned to the scene of the crime and interviewed MTA ticket booth workers who said they hadn't seen the attack, police said. And there are no cameras inside the station.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday, police said.
