Man Crashes Car While High on Drugs, Prosecutors Say

By Nicholas Rizzi | December 21, 2016 10:48am

ARROCHAR —  A man was arrested after crashing his car while high on drugs, prosecutors said.

Chad Christianson, 22, crashed his 2011 Kia Sorrento into a 2008 Cadillac limo and a 2013 Lexus on Saturday at the corner of Hylan Boulevard and Fingerboard Road shortly after midnight, according to his criminal complaint.

When officers arrived, they said Christianson had slurred and incoherent speech and was unsteady on his feet.

He told officers he had taken a suboxone pill before driving and officers found marijuana in his car, prosecutors said.

Christianson was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana at his arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

His bail was set at $2,000 and he's due back in court on Friday, according to online court records.

Christianson was previously arrested in October for driving while high and charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, court records show.

He was also arrested on drug charges that same month, according to court records.

His lawyer could not be reached for comment.
