TIMES SQUARE — Police on Monday arrested an upstate pair in Times Square who they say stabbed two men outside Madame Tussauds a day earlier following an apparent drug deal gone bad, law-enforcement sources said Tuesday.

Pedro Nieves-Diaz, 23, is charged with stabbing a pair of 25-year-old men on 42nd Street near Eighth Avenue Sunday around 2:30 a.m. following a botched drug deal, sources said.

Nieves-Diaz, of Utica, N.Y., was charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance, the NYPD said.

His accomplice, Ashley Arcuri, 19, of Rome, N.Y., was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

The victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital and were expected to survive.

Nieves-Diaz and Arcuri were arrested in Times Square on Monday after being recognized from a wanted poster, police sources said.
