ST. GEORGE — Longtime Bay Street bar and restaurant Karl's Klipper is closing its doors after a dozen years because its building is being sold.
"The time has come for Karl's Klipper to close our doors," the eatery posted on Facebook last week.
"It was a great ride filled with tons of good times and memories!"
Schneider, the real estate agent for the spot, said he's in the process of selling the building at 32, 36 and 38 Bay St., which is listed at $6 million. The sale of 40 Bay St. hasn't not yet been finalized, he added.
"This is a very special piece, it’s the last available piece in this corridor," said Schneider, who owns Schneider Realty Services. "You can’t get better than this."
The building is home to a barbershop, which is also closing because of the sale, Bay Street Card Shop and Honor Wines, Schneider said.
He couldn't say if the other two shops would be forced to close as well.
With mega-projects like Lighthouse Point, Empire Outlets and New York Wheel under construction nearby, Schneider said he's had a lot of interest in buildings in the neighborhood.
