CENTRAL PARK — The National Weather Service's equipment at the Belvedere Castle is back online and sending out weather data after a 32-hour power outage in Central Park, officials said.

Power came back on at about 4 p.m. on Friday after it went out at around 9 a.m. on Thursday, according to the NWS.

The agency's automatic service operation system — which measures dew point, temperature, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, cloud height, visibility, and type of precipitation — feeds official data to the NWS for Central Park.
