ST. GEORGE — A man was arrested after trying to stab a passenger on the Staten Island Ferry, the second attack on the boat this week, prosecutors said.

Lateef King, 25, of East Flatbush, got into a fight with another commuter while riding the ferry towards Staten Island at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to his criminal complaint.

King, a construction worker, took out a folding knife and tried to stab the man, prosecutors said.

He missed and was arrested when the boat docked at the St. George Ferry Terminal. Police found the knife in his right pocket, authorities said.

It is not known what the fight was about.

King was charged with attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment at his arraignment, according to the Staten Island District Attorney's office.

He was the second person this week to be arrested for trying to stab another passenger on the boat.

On Monday night, Kendell Nisbit, of East Flatbush, got into an argument with a rider over a charging port on the boat and lunged at him with a knife, prosecutors said.

The man moved out of the way and Nisbit stabbed the wall instead. He was charged with attempted assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.

King's bail was set at $2,000 and he's due back in court on Dec. 12, according to online court records.

He was previously convicted of assault in Brooklyn and sentenced to five years probation in 2013, according to his complaint.

King's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
