BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man was fatally struck by a box truck Tuesday night, NYPD officials said.

The 54-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was hit by a southbound truck outside a crosswalk near Nostrand and Myrtle avenues about 8 p.m., police said.

He was pronounced dead at Woodhull Medical Center, police said.

The truck's driver remained on the scene and wasn't immediately arrested, police said.

The nearby intersection has been consistently dangerous for pedestrians, according to the city's Vision Zero map.

Three pedestrians were hurt there in 2012, five in 2013, five in 2014, three in 2015 and one this year, according to the map data.

Tuesday's death is the first recorded pedestrian death there since the map's start date in 2009.
