VIDEO: Gunman Shoots Into Nostrand Avenue Barbershop, Injuring One

By Camille Bautista | December 6, 2016 4:17pm

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man fired several shots into a Nostrand Avenue barbershop, injuring a 23-year-old man, police said.

The shooter was inside Dons & Divas at 289 Nostrand Ave. around 10:15 p.m. on Nov. 16 when he got into an altercation with the victim, an NYPD spokesman said.

It was unclear what the dispute was over.

After the gunman left the shop, he took the weapon out of another man’s jacket pocket and returned to fire into the business, hitting the victim in his left leg.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in serious but stable condition, officials said.

Police on Monday released video from outside the location which shows three men walking outside when the suspect grabs the gun and runs back to shoot.

Details were released just this week because officials were waiting on surveillance, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police said the suspect is between 19 to 20 years old, 6-foot-2 and was last seen wearing a black and white jacket, light-colored pants and a dark-colored hooded sweater.

The second man wanted in connection with the incident was last seen wearing a blue, hooded sweater and light-colored pants.

Workers at the barbershop were not immediately available for comment.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stopper’s Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477).
