ASTORIA — A couple perusing a local jewelry shop snatched two diamond rings worth $7,000 off a counter and fled, according to the NYPD.

The man and woman were browsing at Almaz Brothers Jewelers on 30th Avenue and 36th Street shortly before 6 p.m. Monday when they swiped the rings and walked out, police said.

The shop did not immediately return a message seeking more information.

Police say the male suspect is around 30 years old, 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds with brown hair and eyes. The woman is roughly 21 years old, 5-foot-5 and 140 pounds, police said.
