NEW YORK CITY — A robber made off with nearly $2,000 from three Manhattan banks during Thanksgiving week, at one point climbing onto a teller counter to pull cash from the register, police said.

The man robbed a Chase bank, a Citibank and a Capital One between Nov. 23 and Nov. 28, in each case, passing a note to cashiers and verbally threatening them, according to authorities.

He first hit a Chase bank on the Upper East Side at 1191 Third Ave. about 5:35 p.m. on Nov. 23, and walked away with $40, police said.

Then on Nov. 25, he tried to rob a Citibank at 1220 Avenue J in Midwood, at 12:08 p.m. but left empty-handed.

In his last heist, at 5:04 p.m. on Nov. 28, the suspect can be seen in a surveillance video released by police climbing onto a teller counter of Capital One bank at 840 Ninth Ave. and grabbing money from a cash box. He fled with $1,840, police said.

No one was hurt in these incidents, police said.

The man is described as roughly 40 years old, 5-foot-8, 190 pounds, and was last seen wearing a puffy red and black coat, a black fitted cap, dark pants and multi-colored sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information in regards to this robbery pattern is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
