CHELSEA — A developer plans to raze a pair of buildings next to the High Line to make way for two new retail buildings, documents filed with the city show.

The Related Companies in March filed applications to demolish 509 and 511 W. 27th St., between 10th and 11th avenues, Department of Buildings records show.

Last week, the developer filed plans to construct a one-story, 9,875-square-foot retail building at 505 W. 27th St. underneath the High Line, and another one-story retail building at 511 W. 27th St., records show.

The new 5,204-square-foot building at 511 W. 27th St. would sit adjacent to the High Line, according to YIMBY.

The buildings neighbor a site at 520 W. 28th St., between 10th and 11th avenues, where Related is currently constructing an 11-story mixed-use condo project designed by architect Zaha Hadid, who passed away earlier this year.
