BUSHWICK — A pair of robbers punched out a store worker who tried to stop them from stealing, according to police.

A man and woman went into the 99 cent store HR Trading at 1245 Broadway around 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 in Bushwick and started taking things off the shelves, then left without paying for them, police said.

When a 35-year-old worker followed them out and confronted the two, the man, last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and baseball hat, punched him in the face and head over and over again, police said.

The two then fled the scene with the stolen goods, though police didn't have further information about what they had taken or how much it was worth.

The store worker had a gash across his lip following the attack, police said.

The woman was last seen wearing a blue floral shirt and black pants, according to police.

Workers at the dollar store couldn't be reached for comment immediately.

Anyone with information can call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
