STATEN ISLAND — A man stole a wallet from a car parked in Stapleton then used a debit card found inside to spend nearly $600 at the Staten Island Mall, police said.

The suspect took a wallet from a 41-year-old man's car parked in front of 210 Broad St. on Nov. 7 at about 7:45 p.m., the NYPD said.

He later used a TD Bank debit card inside the wallet and spent $565 at the Finish Line, H&M and Macy's inside the Staten Island Mall, police said.

The suspect — who was caught on surveillance in Macy's — was last seen wearing a multi-colored Nike hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
