NEW YORK CITY — A gun-wielding man with a Playboy bunny neck tattoo was arrested early Saturday after harassing a woman on the 2 train and trying to get her to leave with him, police said.

The 23-year-old woman was sitting on the uptown 2 train about 3 a.m. Saturday when Sharif Mitchel, 29, sat down next to her, started harassing her and touched her right leg, the NYPD said.

When the woman told him to stop, he pulled out a black Hi-Point .38-caliber handgun from his waistband and pointed it at her, police said.

When the train reached East 149th Street and 3rd Avenue, Mitchel told the woman to get off the train, but she refused, according to police.

As Mitchel fled, the passenger noticed a tattoo on the left side of his neck, and she and two other women exited the train at the Intervale Avenue and White Plains Road station, where the witnesses called the police on her behalf, the NYPD said.

Police stopped Mitchel in front of 2688 3rd Ave., and the victim identified him. Police found the handgun in his front pants pocket, and a loaded magazine was found in his rear pants pocket, according to the NYPD.

Mitchel was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, menacing and harassment, police said.

Attorney information for Mitchel was not immediately available.
