Man Shot Repeatedly in Washington Heights Apartment Lobby, Police Say

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS – A man was shot several times inside a building lobby following an argument in a nearby bodega, police and sources said.

The 24-year-old victim was inside 501 W. 176th St. near Amsterdam Avenue at approximately 4:44 a.m., when the shooter came and shot him two times in the left leg, one time in his torso and once in the butt.

Official sources said the victim had an argument approximately two hours before the shooting with another person, who police are now seeking to determine if there’s a connection. Police had no details on the nature of the argument.

Police said they recovered a kitchen knife on the victim, who was rushed to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

There were no arrests as of Friday afternoon, police said.
