NEW BRIGHTON — A Thanksgiving afternoon fire left seven people homeless, officials said.
The blaze started in the basement of 176 Corson Ave. at about 4:53 p.m. and spread to the first floor, the FDNY said.
The all-hands fire was under control at 5:38 p.m. and one firefighter was taken to Richmond University Medical Center with minor injuries.
The Department of Buildings issued a full vacate order at 176 Corson Ave. on Friday and the blaze also caused damage to the attached home at 174 Corson Ave., according to Department of Buildings records.
The Red Cross provided seven adults with temporary housing and emergency funds, a spokesman said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, fire officials said.
