SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — A longtime Lower East Side street fair is heading south — and indoors — for the holidays.
The Hester Street Fair is set to launch a holiday market, featuring 32 vendors, inside 117 Beekman St., starting Friday.
Organizers say they hope visitors will enjoy their "line-up of NYC’s best independent designers, artists and entrepreneurs, and ditch the mainstream and shop local this season," according to the fair's website.
Some items shoppers will find at the curated holiday stalls include unique children’s books from Home Grown Books, jewelry from Art Adorned and artisanal sweets from Macaron Parlour, Eat Chic Chocolates, and Stagg Jams, among others.

A spokeswoman for the fair, Christina Yugai, said they're happy to be a part of the Seaport neighborhood this season.
"We opened at the Seaport as it was close by to our Lower East Side home and the Seaport District has been really transforming in the last few years, so we wanted to support them in that development," Yugai said. "With so many amazing activities happening at the Seaport, including a Christmas Tree lighting, there wasn't a Holiday Market, so we decided to fill that gap and offer the Seaport and FiDi community a very special locally sourced and artisanal shopping experience."
The Seaport's Christmas Tree lighting celebration will take place on Nov. 29 at 6:30 pm, at Fulton and Front streets.
The market will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Dec. 24 — and will feature some special sales on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
The fair is also launching an online market place on Cyber Monday. For more information, head here.
