QUEENS — Shoppers looking for holiday deals in the Rego Center Mall can now take a break for lunch at Chipotle, which just opened its newest Queens restaurant in the shopping center.

The eatery opened last weekend on the ground floor of the mall, at 61-35 Junction Blvd., which also features Costco, ALDI, Century 21 and Toys “R” Us, among other stores.

“The holiday season is just beginning,” said Katelyn McCarthy, 18, an employee at the location. “It’s been hectic, and our customers seem happy."

Patrons at the fast-food joint welcomed its arrival.

“I love Chipotle so I’m glad I don't have to go to Forest Hills anymore to have my barbacoa burrito," said Brian Solis, 37, a Rego Park resident who was looking for “something quick to eat" as he was shopping at the mall Monday.

Natasha Sanchez, 32, a resident of the Dominican Republic who was visiting her family in Queens, said she became a big fan of Chipotle after trying it once before.

“It’s tasty and nutritious,” she said. “I’ll come back here next time I’m in New York.”

The chain has four more locations in the borough — in the nearby Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst, on Austin Street in Forest Hills, on Northern Boulevard in Jackson Heights and on Jackson Avenue in Long Island City.
