BATTERY PARK CITY —  A holiday favorite is on its way to Brookfield Place.

The New York Theatre Ballet is slated to dance three performances of "The Nutcracker," all for free, inside the Winter Garden atrium.

This version of the classic —  the story of a young girl who dreams of the Nutcracker prince after a family Christmas Eve party — set to Tchaikovsky's famous score, lasts one hour and features innovative choreography by longtime NYBT choreographer Keith Michael.

Audiences to the shows, which take place 7 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 3, are invited to come early if they'd like to take photos with any of the dancers in costume. Seating is first-come, first-serve.
