UPPER WEST SIDE — A woman was in danger of losing her leg after she was struck by a car that hopped a curb on West 96th Street Thursday morning, police said.

The 63-year-old woman was walking outside of 41 W. 96th St., near Columbus Avenue, when a car jumped the sidewalk, striking her about 11:35 a.m., police and fire officials said.

She was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in critical condition, the NYPD said.

The driver remained on scene and was not immediately charged or issued a summons, police said. Further information about the vehicle wasn't immediately available.

It was unclear what caused the accident.

Around the same time Thursday, a 59-year-old cyclist was killed after a crash with a truck on West 88th Street and Broadway, police said.
