Shake Shack is Coming to Staten Island

NEW SPRINGVILLE — Shake Shack is bringing its burgers and milkshakes to Staten Island.

The popular burger-chain which has a cult-like adoration recently leased space inside the Staten Island Mall as part of the shopping center's expansion project, the Staten Island Advance first reported.

It would be the company's first Staten Island outpost and 17th in the city when it opens in 2019, said Shake Shack's spokesman Edwin Bragg.

This year, the Staten Island Mall started construction on a redevelopment and expansion project to add restaurants, more stores, a public plaza and a 53,000-square-foot movie theater.

The project is expected to finish next year and restaurant chain Dave and Busters also announced it'll open in the new space, the Advance reported.
