
INWOOD — More than two dozen students at Northeastern Academy were injured Thursday morning during a “hazardous material incident,” fire officials said.
Twenty-eight students at the private high school on 215th Street near Park Terrace East suffered minor injuries, including eye and nose irritation, during an incident involving copper sulfate about 11:40 a.m., students and the Fire Department said.
The FDNY was expecting to transport 26 of those students to Presbyterian Hospital in The Bronx for evaluation, a department spokesman said.
Details of the incident were not immediately available.
The school did not immediately comment.
