THE BRONX — A 60-year-old man was fatally struck by a car as he tried to cross the Major Deegan Expressway near Yankee Stadium on Tuesday evening, NYPD officials said.
The man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was crossing the expressway near Exit 5 at about 6:40 p.m. when a black Acura driven by a 27-year-old man hit him, police said Wednesday morning.
He was pronounced dead at Lincoln Medical Center, police said.
The Acura's driver remained on the scene, and he wasn't immediately charged, an NYPD spokesman said.
