BOERUM HILL — A new Smith Street spot is hoping to become a go-to location for locals looking for the news of the day, a cup of coffee or a thoughtful gift for a special occasion.

"We're a general store with a coffee shop and newsstand," said Daniel Sorg, who runs Regular Visitors at Bergen and Smith streets near the F/G subway station in Boerum Hill.

"It's kind of become a refuge for people on their way to Manhattan."

Regular Visitors features a highly curated selection of goods, with everything from stationery and desk objects, dry foods and gourmet products, kitchen and home ware, beauty and grooming essentials and baby merchandise over a wide price range, Sorg said.

The shop is meant to be a place where "you can stop in and grab a thoughtful gift" on your way to anything from a baby shower or a housewarming to a holiday party, he said.

It's a place where you can pick up a pack of chewing gum or a $10 notebook or spend time browsing through more expensive goods, including a $425 raincoat from PostalCo or a $225 Fog Linen bathrobe, their priciest items, he added.

Regular Visitors, which opened mid-November, is also a neighborhood coffee shop with a selection of magazines and newspapers for locals looking for a place to hang out.

Coffee from Noble Tree, based in Red Hook, is served, as is a small selection of baked goods from Mazzola in Carroll Gardens, said Song, who lives in Boerum Hill.

Kombucha and cold brew are poured on tap and the shop even has its very own chocolate bars created in collaboration with Raaka Chocolate in Red Hook.

Regular Visitors is a retail venture created through a partnership involving Neil Rasmus, of Izola, a men's lifestyle brand, with Aesthetic Movement, a design and style consulting firm.

Sorg serves as the brand director for Regular Visitors and Jesse James, of Aesthetic Movement, is the creative director.
