THE BRONX — A 17-year-old boy was found dead on Longwood subway tracks with burn marks across his chest Tuesday morning, an NYPD spokesman said.
The boy, who wasn't immediately identified, was found in the Whitlock Avenue station, which serves the 6 train, near Lowell Street, about 2:20 a.m., police said.
He had burns across his chest and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The city's medical examiner will determine his cause of death, police said.
It wasn't immediately clear if the boy had been hit by a train or made contact with the electrified third rail, an NYPD spokesman said.
