MAP: Trump Had More Upper East Side Supporters Near Central Park

By Shaye Weaver | November 14, 2016 8:39am

UPPER EAST SIDE — President-elect Donald Trump pulled in a few pockets of support from wealthier Upper East Siders who live next to Central Park, data show.

The area from Fifth to Park avenues, between East 60th and 64th streets, home to some of the most expensive real estate, gave the most support for Trump in the neighborhood — 28.7 percent, or 119 ballots,  DNAinfo New York's interactive map shows.

The Upper East Siders farther to the south and west in general supported Trump more than those farther north and east.

That's not to say the richer areas didn't support Hillary Clinton. Almost 70 percent of votes, 269 ballots, were cast in her favor in that wealthy pocket.

There was an outlier farther east in the district between York Avenue and the FDR Drive, from East 71st to East 73rd streets, where Trump got more than 25 percent of the vote, while Clinton garnered 71 percent.
