HELL’S KITCHEN — A man threatened to shoot a Holiday Inn employee if Hillary Clinton won the election — then claimed it was a joke when the employee called the police, the NYPD said.

The man walked into the lobby of the hotel at 440 W. 57th St., between Ninth and 10th avenues, around 8:50 a.m. on Nov. 8 and got into an argument with someone inside the lobby, police said.

“If Hillary wins the election, I will come back tomorrow and shoot you — I am prior military,” the man said to a 43-year-old hotel employee at some point, according to police.

The employee reported the man to police, saying that he feared for his life and safety, the NYPD said.

When management spoke with the man who made the threat, he was apologetic and said it had been a "joke,” police said.

A Holiday Inn employee who answered the phone in the hotel's security department on Monday confirmed that the man who reported the threat was a hotel employee.

“The guy said he was joking… but the [employee] he said it to didn’t take it as a joke, and so he called the cops,” he said.

“The next thing you know, it was an unpleasant event, and that’s what happened. The cops were called,” he added.

No one had been arrested in connection with the incident as of Monday.
