Hit-and-Run Driver Crashes Into Pedestrian in Bed-Stuy, Police Say

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A hit-and-run driver smashed into a man walking across the street Sunday evening and fled the scene, police said.

The 59-year-old victim was crossing the street at the intersection of Ralph Avenue and Macon Street around 5:15 p.m. when he was hit by a car, according to officials.

Emergency responders took him to Kings County Hospital with head injuries, an NYPD spokeswoman said. Police had no further information on his condition.

The driver left the scene and no details were available on the vehicle's description.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
