NEW SPRINGVILLE — A pair of burglars broke into a series of restaurants, including a bagel shop and a kosher butcher, stealing hundreds of dollars from the cash registers, police said.
The pattern started when one suspect broke in through the front door of Heartland Village Bagels, at 2311 Richmond Ave., with a screwdriver on Nov. 3 at about 1:15 a.m., the NYPD said.
He then broke open two cash registers and took about $200 before fleeing.
Three days later, on Nov. 6, one of the suspects broke into Payless Glatt Kosher Meats, at 77 Richmond Hill Road, and took an unknown amount of cash from the register at about 6 p.m., police said.
The pair last struck on Nov. 7, when they broke into Holy Shnitzel restaurant, at 438 Nome Ave., at about 2 a.m., the NYPD said. They took about $450 in cash from the register then fled the store.
Both suspects were described as between 18 to 20 years old, with one standing 5-foot 8-inch, weighing 150 pounds and last seen wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, dark pants, black sneakers and glasses.
