MANHATTAN — A vehicle struck a man in the Lower East Side Thursday evening, according to the FDNY.
The man was hit at the intersection of Eldridge and Canal streets at about 5:35 p.m., a fire department spokesman said.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
A worker in the area said the man was bleeding, but appeared to be conscious.
There was no immediate information if the driver remained at the scene.
