QUEENS — A new Rego Park condominium that hopes to attract residents with its amenities is expected to be completed next spring, its developer said.

The seven-story “Rego Park Plaza,” at 97-45 63rd Drive, will feature 50 residential units, including one- and two-bedroom apartments, to be completed next May, according to Long Island-based developer Kenny Liu.

"There will be a gym and a rooftop deck for residents to hang out," said Liu about the development which replaced a row of multifamily homes he purchased early last year for $6.1 million, according to published reports.

The seventh floor will feature two duplex apartments extending to a penthouse level, according to an application filed with the Department of Buildings last year.

The plaza is among several new buildings planned for Rego Park.

The once-modest neighborhood has recently had an infusion of upscale developments that offer “Manhattan-style” amenities, according to real estate experts.

The building, designed by Angelo Ng & Anthony Ng Architects Studio, will also consist of 41,000 square feet of residential space and 12,000 square feet of medical offices which will be located on the first two floors, Liu said.

There will also be about 30 parking spaces.

The building will be located in the heart of the neighborhood, less than two blocks from the Rego Park subway station and near several other upscale buildings that were recently built in the neighborhood, including the 24-story Alexander — constructed by Vornado Realty Trust — atop the Rego Center Mall and luxury 99 Millennium condominium.

The prices for the apartments in Rego Park Plaza have not been decided yet, the developer said.
