MANHATTAN — A person was hit by an N train in the Times Square station Wednesday morning after jumping onto the tracks, officials said.

The person, whose identity wasn't immediately released, was struck by a northbound train about 9:18 a.m., MTA and FDNY spokesmen said.

Oscar Hernandez, 52, was coming from Brooklyn on the N this morning when he heard the engineer blast the subway horn and then slam on the breaks.

"It was unexpected. It was a complete shock," said Hernandez, who saw MTA officials and detectives on the platform.

"I felt really bad for the person."

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and their identity was pending family notification, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

Trains were running normally in Manhattan by 12:15 p.m., according to the MTA.
