MANHATTAN — A woman crossing 42nd Street mid-block was fatally struck by a flatbed truck in Midtown on Monday night, NYPD officials said.
The 68-year-old woman, whose name wasn't immediately released, was crossing East 42nd Street between Madison and Fifth avenues about 8 p.m. when the westbound truck hit her in the left lane, police said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The 42-year-old driver remained on the scene and wasn't immediately arrested, police said.
