'Orange Is The New Black' And 'Caine' to Film Friday in Central Queens

QUEENS — Lights! Camera! Action!

This Friday, filming for two shows will take over a host of local street in Forest Hills and Kew Gardens.

The popular Netflix series “Orange is The New Black,” which is set in a fictional prison, will be shot for its fifth season inside the Queens Detention Complex in Kew Gardens.

TV crews, which will film only interior scenes, will also be back in the neighborhood on Monday, sources said.

The show tells a story of Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling, who had been convicted of transporting drug money and sentenced to 18 months in prison. 

The shoot will begin at 4 a.m. and end at midnight, according to production fliers posted in front of Queens Borough Hall.

Several streets in the area will be closed off to parking during filming:

► 82nd Avenue, between 126th and 132nd streets (half a block)
► North side of Queens Boulevard, between 80th Road and 82nd Avenue
► South side of Queens Boulevard, between 83rd Avenue and the Van Wyck Expressway (half a block)

Also on Friday, new ABC show “Caine” will film in Forest Hills.

The production crews will take over a number of streets in the neighborhood:

► South side of Austin Street, between 70th Avenue and 72nd Road
► North and south side of Burns Street, between Slocum Crescent and Ascan Avenue
► South side of Greenway Terrace, between Station Square and Middlemay Circle
► West side of 71st Avenue, between Burns and Dartmouth streets
► East and west sides of 71st Avenue, between Burns and Austin streets
► East and west sides of 71st Road between Austin Street and Queens Boulevard
► East side of 72nd Road between Austin Street and Queens Boulevard.

The shoot will take place from approximately 7 a.m. to midnight.

A representative for the drama declined to say what the show is about.
