MOTT HAVEN — A straphanger in a Yankees cap groped a woman during the evening rush hour on an uptown 2 train but took off after she confronted him about the attack, police said.

The incident took place on a northbound train on Oct. 5 around 5:45 p.m., when the suspect came up to his 27-year-old victim from behind, rubbed up against her and grabbed her butt, according to the NYPD.

When she confronted him, he took off at the 149th Street/Grand Concourse station, but the victim followed and was able to snap a picture of him with her cell phone, police said.

Officers described the suspect as a man between 35 and 45 years old who stands 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans and a Yankees navy blue baseball hat.
