LOWER EAST SIDE — Two men were arrested after an early-morning brawl that broke out at a Ludlow Street bar and taqueria and spilled into the streets — leaving one with a gash that exposed his skull, police and prosecutors said.
A 29-year-old man and Jonathan Karem, 24 got into a tussle inside Los Feliz Taqueria at 109 Ludlow St. on Oct. 22 around 3:24 a.m., according to a criminal complaint.
Karem hit the 29-year-old across the head with a glass bottle inside the bar, leading to the brawlers being tossed out by security, police said.
The fight then continued on the sidewalk, where the man struck with the bottle allegedly struck Karem and tackled him into a parked car, causing him to hit his head against the vehicle and leaving him with a deep, bloody gash that exposed his skull, according to a police report.
A third person, who was not arrested, also claimed the 29-year-old struck him across the head with a glass bottle during the altercation, prosecutors said.
Both defendants were charged with assault in the second degree, court records show.
Both were released on their own recognizance, court records show. Charges were dropped against the 29-year-old and the case was sealed, according to prosecutors. Karem is due back on Jan. 4.
Lawyers for both defendants did not immediately return requests for comment.
Representatives for Los Feliz could not immediately be reached.
