THE BRONX — A young man who escaped police after being handcuffed for drug possession in Tremont turned himself in on Tuesday, officials said.

Narciso Rosario, 19, was riding in a car with a 26-year-old man when police pulled them over near East 178th Street and Hughes Avenue about 9:40 p.m. Monday for a traffic stop, according to the NYPD.

After a search, police found drugs and handcuffed the pair, police said.

But Sanchez resisted, giving Rosario a chance to bolt from the scene with his hands still cuffed behind his back, police said.

Rosario, of Claremont Village, turned himself in Tuesday to face charges of escape, criminal possession of a controlled substance, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

He hadn't been arraigned as of Wednesday morning, records show.

Rosario's been arrested nine times before, but police records for five of those are sealed, police said.

He was busted twice in 2013 and again in 2014 on marijuana charges, police said.

Rosario was arrested on May 27 for burglary. He's due in court on Jan. 30 for that case, according to court records.
