Woman's Necklace Snatched in Broad Daylight Near Rockefeller Center: NYPD

MIDTOWN — A thief snatched a chain off a woman’s neck before fleeing into a nearby subway station, the NYPD said.

The 69-year-old woman was in front of 1196 Sixth Ave., near West 47th Street, around 12:40 p.m. on Monday when the suspect stole the chain and ran into the 47th-50th Streets/Rockefeller Center station, police said.

The victim wasn’t injured during the theft, the NYPD said.

Police are now searching for an approximately 40- to 50-year-old bald man, standing 6 feet and weighing about 160 pounds, who was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark jeans and a dark shirt.
