NEW YORK CITY — If you're looking for an election-themed Halloween costume this year, you'd better get the candidates' signature style right.
Donald Trump has his (arguably) ill fitting suits that are offset by a series of bright ties. Hillary Clinton has her famous (or infamous, depending upon your preference) pantsuit.
Here's some options that will help you dress like the candidates for Halloween — and re-purpose your costume to wear all year long.
► TO STEAL CLINTON'S STYLE:
Dotted Tweed Jacket and Barely Boot Columnist Suit from Express
A classic gray suit is a flattering addition to every wardrobe and it is a great color for any season. This one from Express is a sleek example.
Tailored Suit Jacket and Trousers from Top Shop
This trendy power suit is for work and play. Wear it with boots or pumps for the office to dress it up. Pair with some sneakers to dress it down for weekends.
ASOS Relaxed Workwear Suit
This loose-fitting suit from the London-based brand ASOS is great for the casual office. The tie at the front gives it some added femininity. Wear the suit as a set or breaking the pieces up into separates.
Windowpane Blazer and Ankle Pant from Banana Republic
Be bold with this windowpane print suit. The blazer is fitted as are the slim-fitting pants, which are cropped at the ankle
Stretch Blazer and Wide Leg Pant from Lane Bryant
For a change in suit silhouette try a wide leg pant. Lane Bryant focuses on plus-size clothing and sizes start from 14 for these items.
► TO CHANNEL TRUMP'S LOOK:
Solid Satin Tie from the Donald J. Trump Collection
For those intent of dressing just like Trump, head to his own clothing line, Donald J. Trump: Signature Collection. This tie looks a lot like the one he wore during the first presidential debate in September.
Yellow Foulard Tie from David Hart
When he's not rocking blue or red, yellow seems to be one of Trump's favorite color choices. This 100 percent silk tie is on the skinnier side at two and a half inches wide. The designer, David Hart, makes all his ties in the U.S.
Lafayette Herringbone Tie from Mountain & Sackett
If you want a different look, try a wider tie — this one is more than three inches wide. The herringbone fabric in a bold purple stripe is 100 percent silk and woven in Italy.
Buff Solid Tie from the Tie Bar
A red tie always makes for a patriotic look. For a more rustic look, the Buff Solid tie is a spun silk that gives the fabric a warm texture.
BB#3 Repp Tie from Brooks Brothers
The 100 percent silk for this tie was woven in England before being made in the U.S. Brooks Brothers offers plenty of of bold and bright color combinations to choose from.
