LOWER EAST SIDE — There will be no late weeknight F train service between Downtown Brooklyn and Greenwich Village in Manhattan for two weeks beginning Monday to allow for repairs, according to the MTA.
The F train will be rerouted via the A line between Jay Street-MetroTech and West 4th Street in both directions from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Oct. 24 through Oct. 28 and Oct. 31 through Nov. 4, the agency announced.
Free shuttle buses will run in both boroughs to provide transfers to other lines, running between Broadway-Lafayette and East Broadway with stops at Second Avenue and Delancey Street in Manhattan, and between York Street and Jay Street-MetroTech in Brooklyn.
While there will be no shuttle service at W. 4th Street, commuters at that station can transfer to the D train, which runs to Broadway-Lafayette, the MTA advised.
D trains in Brooklyn will run local on those nights beginning at 10:30 p.m.
The two weeks of halted service will allow for maintenance, cleaning and repair work along the F line, the agency said. An MTA spokeswoman was unable to specify the nature of the work, saying the details would be available once the repairs were completed on Nov. 4.
