Woman Fatally Struck by MTA Bus in Financial District Friday, Police Say

FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A female pedestrian died after an MTA bus struck her and dragged her several blocks in the Financial District Friday evening, officials and sources said.

The bus hit the woman near the Staten Island Ferry terminal and then pulled her under a wheel up Trinity Place to Edgar Street at about 5:38 p.m., according to the FDNY and sources.

Another pedestrian knocked on a bus window to alert the driver the woman was under the wheel, sources added. 

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no immediate information on the person's identity and police were investigating.
