UPPER EAST SIDE — An Upper East Side man kicked a 6-year-old girl for bumping into him on the street and then bolted into the Guggenheim Museum on Tuesday, according to the NYPD.

The child was walking with her mother in front of Laila's Florist at 1264 Madison Ave., near East 91st Street, when the girl accidentally bumped into 62-year-old William Pordy at about 3:15 p.m., police said.

Pordy turned and kicked the little girl in the right leg, knocking her down into a display of flowers outside the shop, according to police and an employee at Laila's.

"I was outside and my co-worker called 911," said the employee, who would only identify himself as Rafael.

"We started following the guy because the girl was crying and scared. I never saw something like — a guy kicking a girl for no reason."

Pordy then fled around the corner into the Guggenheim Museum, police said.

The employees chased after the man and called police, who found Pordy inside the museum at 1071 Fifth Ave. and arrested him.

Prosecutors charged Pordy with endangering the welfare of a child, attempted assault and harassment during his arraignment on Wednesday, according to a criminal complaint.

He was released without bail pending a Dec. 1 court date, records show.

His attorney did not immediately return a call for comment on Thursday.

The New York Daily News first reported the incident.
