By Nicholas Rizzi | October 20, 2016 2:00pm

STAPLETON — A woman was killed after being hit by a car as she walked across a Staten Island street, police said.

Myun Chon, 61, of New Springville, was crossing Bay Street at the Canal Street intersection on Sept. 30 when she was hit by a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz at about 12:15 p.m., the NYPD said Thursday.

Police said Chon was walking just north of the crosswalk when the 66-year-old male driver turned onto Bay Street from Canal Street and struck her.

Chon was taken to Richmond University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead that day, police said.

No arrests had been made in regards to the incident as of Thursday, police said. It was not immediately clear why it took nearly three weeks to release information about the incident.
