CHELSEA — A French restaurant from world-renowned chef Joël Robuchon that prepares its haute cuisine in front of diners is planning to open next to the High Line in the spring.

Robuchon — who was once named “chef of the century” by French restaurant guide Gault-Millau — plans to open a L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at 85 Tenth Ave., near West 15th Street, in the space formerly home to Colicchio & Sons, a document filed with Community Board 4 shows.

The upscale eatery has 11 outposts in cities including London, Las Vegas and Hong Kong, the filing shows.

All of its restaurants “feature sushi bar-like seating around the kitchen, allowing guests to watch the chefs at work” as they prepare signature dishes like a scallop carpaccio with sea urchin and a poached, chilled duck foie gras, the filing adds.

Christophe Bellanca, who was the executive chef at Le Cirque and Aureole, will be the eatery’s corporate executive chef.

At a meeting Tuesday evening, CB4’s Business Licenses and Permits committee voted to approve the eatery’s application for a liquor, wine and beer license.

L’Atelier hopes to open its doors in the spring, a representative for the eatery said.
